Death penalty by Google
A company called Search Engine Optimization, based in Carlsbad, Ca., just north of San Diego, has been blacklisted by Google. The company, which tries to help clients game Google's search results by making them appear higher in the ranking, apparently went a little too far. Here's the scoop, via Battelle.

Uhh ... Carlsbad is just north of SAN DIEGO and, unless they've moved where I live and work, that's SOUTH, FAR SOUTH, of Silicon Valley.
