Friday treats

Two new web sites to shepherd you into the weekend...

Feedster has added a blogs-only feed search to its services. So much non-blog information is now syndicated through XML feeds that it's becoming harder to home in on purely blogosphere buzz or info, Feedster CEO Scott Rafer says.

"The point is, all the hard-core bloggers are annoyed at all the random stuff in the database, such as jobs and news and stuff,'' Rafer says. The official announcement is Monday, but the site went live a couple of hours ago.

thisisnow.jpgMeanwhile, in the web art category, Justin Gardner from kozoru alerts us to a new site called 10x10 that automatically captures 100 words and images from the top news stories of the hour and groups them into a "picture postcard.''

"The result is an often moving, sometimes shocking, occasionally frivolous, but always fitting snapshot of our world,'' says creator Jonathan Harris. Harris' other web art project was WordCount.
