Cloud computing services to be $42 billion market by 2012, says IDC(0)

Over the next five year, spending on cloud-computing services is expected to “grow almost threefold, reaching $42 billion by 2012 and accounting for 9% or revenues in five key market segments, according to a release Monday from market-research firm IDC. ” More importantly, spending on cloud computing will accelerate throughout the forecast period, capturing 25% of IT spending growth in 2012 and nearly a third of growth the following year.”

Wearable digital media to be a focus of research center formed by two Asian universities(0)

Reshaping our lifestyle in the “connected society” is the goal of a new research center to be formed as a joint ventures between Keio University, the oldest university in Japan and one of its most prestigious, and the National University of Singapore. It will be Keio’s first full-scale international research center located outside of Japan, according to a press release issued Friday.
