Wrestling at the UFC Gym

The Sunnyvale Wrestling Club will hold a wrestling tournament at the UFC Gym in Sunnyvale on July 11. Former Fremont High School wrestling star Jeremy Piamonte, a two-time Central Coast Section placer for the Firebirds, is the gym’s general manager.

Piamonte “is working to get UFC Gym to partner with the Sunnyvale Wrestling Club, a local non-profit that provides free programing to Sunnyvale kids,” said Daniel McCune, a Fremont teacher who helps run the wrestling club.

The day features a wrestling clinic with Honduran freestyle wrestling Olympian and current UFC Gym Sunnyvale wrestling coach Brandon Escobar at 11:30 a.m., with wrestling to begin at noon.
