Gisele Bundchen admits her marriage to Tom Brady hasn’t always lived up to the image of supercouple bliss that she often presents in her Instagram posts and elsewhere.

In fact, the supermodel admitted to “tough times” with the New England Patriots quarterback in an interview Tuesday on “CBS This Morning.” She means times tough enough that she thought of packing her bags and leaving, according to the New York Daily News.

As Bundchen was promoting her new $700 coffee table book, she said during the interview that one of those “challenging” times occurred during the recent Deflategate scandal, she said.

The couple’s nine-year marriage was rumored to be on the rocks after Brady was accused of deflating footballs during a playoff game in January.

But long before then, at the beginning of her relationship with Brady, Bundchen had to decide whether he was worth the trouble when they learned in 2006 that his ex-girlfriend Bridget Moynahan was pregnant.

“Here I am, you know, thinking I’m dating this guy … everything is great, and then this happens. So I felt I didn’t know what to do,” the supermodel said. “It was one of the moments like, ‘Do I just run away?’ ”

Bundchen, of course, is delighted she stuck with the San Mateo-raised Brady.

“Now, eight years later, I couldn’t have asked for a sweeter bonus child,” she added, referring to Brady and Moynahan’s 8-year-old son, John. Bündchen and Brady also have two children of their own: Benjamin, 5, and Vivian, 2.

As for Deflategate, which led to Brady going to court to successfully fight a four-game suspension, Bundchen says she and her husband were able to weather that controversy because of their love for each other.

“I think, no matter how challenging it was, we’ve always been supportive of one another,” she said. “I think that’s the most important thing you can have in life, you know, a support system and love.”
