Tesla CEO Elon Musk on Jan. 6 promised to build a retro-style “roller skates & rock” restaurant at one of the Los Angeles “Supercharger” stations for Tesla electric cars, leading to requests from two Bay Area NBC workers for him to do the same thing here.

“Gonna put an old school drive-in, roller skates & rock restaurant at one of the new Tesla Supercharger locations in LA,” Musk tweeted shortly before 7 p.m.

Interestingly, the tweet came just a day after publication of an article chronicling an attention-grabbing and allegedly record-setting cross-country trip in a Tesla Model 3 sedan, in which the author complained about the company’s Supercharging stations.

“Here’s a business opportunity: food delivery for Tesla owners at Supercharging stations,” wrote Alex Roy, editor-at-large for The Drive.

Musk’s tweet drew quick responses from a couple of Bay Area residents.
