Here’s what’s going on in tech on Wednesday…

–Elon Musk and Tesla had an eventful 2017. Now, 2018 is being called a “make or break year” for Musk and the electric carmaker.

–Amazon spent Tuesday boasting about how its sold “millions” of its Echo devices over Christmas. And that success is said to be showing how far Apple has fallen behind by delaying the release of its HomePod voice assistant.

–Apple may have ditched the old-school headphone jack, but that doesn’t mean everyone is. Like Samsung, which is keeping the outlet in its upcoming Galaxy S9 phone.

–To anyone still using a Blackberry or Windows Phone…WhatsApp is ending support for those mobile platforms on Jan. 1.

–Could foldable phones be a thing again? Well, there’s a chance, based on some new Microsoft patents. If a foldable Surface phone is in the works, it would come after Microsoft basically dropped its phone ambitions this year.

How is “Big Tech” going after your health care data and how to manage and access that information?
