Boring hats, anyone? Elon Musk’s tunnel idea just got real

Things just got real.

Elon Musk’s Boring Co., the tunnel-boring idea he proposed in December, now has hats. And we all know a movement’s for real when it has hats.

It’s common knowledge that the Tesla and SpaceX CEO has an obsession with transportation, whether it’s by land, air or Hyperloop. Now it’s tunnels, because he got stuck in traffic last year and tweeted that he wanted to do something about it. Traffic in L.A. will do that to a person. When that person is one of the most famous entrepreneurs in the world, there might just be a light at the end of the… well, you know.

There’s skepticism about the underground idea — Musk has admitted he doesn’t know much about tunnel-boring — but he has already started digging a hole. Well, probably not him personally, because he’s got enough to do. But in January he tweeted that “we start digging the tunnel tonight.”

So who might we see sporting the Boring Company’s hat? Because Twitter lets us eavesdrop on conversations, we know Musk has promised to send one to musician Zedd, although it sure seems like Musk himself received the hat from someone named JJ. (He thanked him on Twitter.) Oh, and don’t count on Musk taking a selfie with the hat on.
