Off topic: Life timeline, avoiding the sun, names and faces, Spain’s sex commissioner

“You’re one of the first people who’s never lived in a world without commercial bar-code scanning,” the Atlantic’s life timeline tells me. Back in the day, high-class ladies wore crazy masks to shield their faces from the sun, lest they tan and look like commoners. Speaking of faces, researchers say your name might shape your face — so you may actually look like a Pierre, or a Barbara. And behold Spain’s sex commissioner, as it becomes the latest country with a low birth rate to try to get people to make babies again.
