Reid Hoffman mocks Donald Trump again with Trumped Up Cards

For the second time this week, Reid Hoffman is going after Donald Trump.

The LinkedIn co-founder, who earlier this week offered $5 million toward a crowdfunding effort to pressure the Republican presidential nominee into releasing his tax returns, is now selling Trumped Up Cards: The World’s Biggest Deck.

The cards are similar to Cards Against Humanity, the game where players ask one another questions and pick out their favorite outrageous responses.

From the Trumped Up Cards website: “Trumped Up Cards exist to document the insanity of the 2016 campaign season. It’s a fast-paced, satirical game where reality collides with absurdity. Play it often — and when Election Day arrives, don’t let the joke be on you!”

Hoffman, who’s also a venture capitalist at Greylock Partners, wrote in a Medium post Wednesday that he made the cards for family and friends and got such a good response that he decided to make them available to the public for $20.16. Get it?

Who might want to buy the cards? Here’s what Hoffman says:

Trumped Up Cards are for free speech advocates, fans of due process and equal protection, immigrants yearning to breathe free, and native-born patriots who believe our diversity and inclusiveness make us stronger (but who draw the line at Russian hackers).

It’s also for people who know the correct definition of “sarcasm,” people who understand that while President Obama found Osama bin Laden he did not found ISIS, and anyone else who shows their commitment to America’s values through their actions, not just their baseball caps.

Hoffman is the latest high-profile tech figure to get involved in presidential politics. Last week, Facebook co-founder Dustin Moskovitz announced a $20 million pledge to Hillary Clinton’s campaign and other Democratic Party organizations.

Oh, and one last thing about the cards. Hoffman: “Any profits will go to charities that are already working to keep America great.”
