Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton released a list of endorsers Thursday, and not surprisingly, it features some big names from Silicon Valley.
The list includes Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg, Alphabet Chairman Eric Schmidt, Greylock partner Reid Hoffman and many others. Also on the list is Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff, who has previously publicly voiced his support for the former secretary of state.
The support for Clinton from Silicon Valley comes on the heels of rival GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump’s not-so-good week in tech support.
Earlier this week, Y Combinator’s Sam Altman compared Trump to Hitler. Also, Apple has declined to provide support for the upcoming Republican national convention because of Trump, even as CEO Tim Cook is planning to hold a fundraiser for House Speaker Paul Ryan.
“Trump would destroy much of what is great about America,” Netflix CEO Reed Hastings, who’s also on the list, said in a statement released by Clinton’s campaign. “Hillary Clinton is the strong leader we need, and it’s important that Trump lose by a landslide to reject what he stands for.”
Zynga co-founder Mark Pincus also weighed in: “Hillary Clinton has a proven record of fighting for the American people, dating back to the beginning of her career at the Children’s Defense Fund. The American people need an advocate, not an opportunist.”
