Leave it to Elon Musk s SpaceX to top this year s Glassdoor list of oddball interview questions with this gem: When a hot dog expands, in which direction does it split and why?

Glassdoor, the Bay Area-based jobs website, says its new Top 10 lists of oddball interview questions (including those asked in the U.S., Canada, U.K. and elsewhere, plus a separate one for the tech industry — which is notorious for its interview questions) are based on hundreds of thousands of questions shared on the site in the past 12 months.

Other questions that might stump you — and perhaps make you glad you re not job-hunting at the moment:

  • How can you weigh an elephant without a scale? (Amazon)
  • If all the hard drive supplies in the world were wiped out, what could you do to make more computers? (Dell)
  • You are in a room with two iron rods. One is magnetized and the other isn t. There are no other metals in the room. How do you figure out which one is magnetized? (Workday)
  • If you had $2,000, how would you double it in 24 hours? (Uniqlo)

When you re done sweating over those, maybe try a few that seem a little less tricky:

  • What would you do if you found a penguin in the freezer? (Trader Joe s)
  • Would you rather fight 1 horse-sized duck, or 100 duck-sized horses? (Whole Foods)
  • Star Wars of Star Trek? (Zappos)

Last but not least, the ultimate softball question: If a nerf football hit you in the back of the head, what would you do? (Expedia)

Glassdoor s lists can be found on its site.
