Oracle shares are up about 1.5 percent today following the company s earnings late Thursday. Cloud-based revenue was an area of strength, but the overall earnings and sales while not bad, weren t that exciting either.Twitter introduces emoji-based advertising. This will let companies target their ads based on emojis that appear in tweets.The Chan Zuckerberg Initiative makes its first investment, leading a $24 million round of financing for Andela, a company that trains software developers in Africa.LinkedIn Chief Executive Jeff Weiner gave a pretty emotional speech to the company s employees after the announcement that Microsoft was acquiring LInkedIn for $26.2 billion.And LinkedIn wasn t the only company Microsoft bought this week. The software giant has acquired Wand, maker of a chat app for Apple s iOS devices.A group of former professional binge watchers for Netflix is suing the company over how they were paid for their work. Speaking of binge watching, the fourth season of Orange Is The New Black premieres Friday.Synaptics shares fell almost 10 percent.
