Tim Cook, Apple CEO, on Microsoft’s newest Surface Book — for when Cook isn’t talking civic responsibility and civil rights, he’s talking trash about the competition. This isn’t the first time Cook has ripped Microsoft over its efforts to marry the tablet and the PC. In 2012, we wrote that Cook inspired a couple of memes when he said “you can converge a toaster and a refrigerator, but those things are probably not gonna be pleasing to the user.” Microsoft had a little fun with that last month when it unveiled its newest tablet/laptop hybrids.

Meanwhile, from a Walt Mossberg review of Apple’s newly available iPad Pro, which has an optional snap-on keyboard and a stylus for drawing: “For me — a person already using his laptop a lot less in favor of the iPad — the Pro is just not likely to eliminate my laptop use entirely.”

Some analysts believe the iPad Pro will do well in the enterprise market and help boost sagging iPad sales. Microsoft also has seen its Surface revenue fall, but its new Surfaces have received a decent review or two.
