“Just wrong,” is how Mark Zuckerberg’s advocacy group, FWD.us, describes some of Donald Trump’s positions on immigration reform.

In a statement on the group’s website, FWD.us’s president, Todd Schulte, refuted some of the immigration reform ideas Trump has supported. Without mentioning Trump by name, Schulte attacked Trump’s proposal calling on mass deportation of the 11 million people living in the U.S. illegally:

What’s absurd is not just these ‘plans,’ but that those who would seek to represent Americans as president are falling all over themselves to support backward policies that would rip apart American families and collapse our economy.

Schulte also wrote that “the idea we should radically restrict pathways for highly-skilled immigrants to come and stay here is – again – just wrong.”

Earlier this week, Trump, who is seeking the Republican presidential nomination, posted his policy paper on immigration reform, as I wrote.

It included a wall at the U.S.-Mexico border and a boost in wages for those with H-1B visas, which tech companies use to bring in skilled talent from overseas. Companies should first have to hire locally, he said.

Trump also called out Sen. Marco Rubio, the Florida Republican, for allegedly doing the bidding of Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg when it comes to immigration reform.

Rubio, wrote Trump, is Zuckerberg,’s “personal senator.”

But on Tuesday, Trump tweeted his support for other proposals the tech industry seeks, namely to make it easier for foreign students here to stay and work in the U.S.:

I want talented people to come into this country—to work hard and to become citizens. Silicon Valley needs engineers, etc.

— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump)

When foreigners attend our great colleges & want to stay in the U.S., they should not be thrown out of our country.
