Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg is going to be a dad.
The 31-year-old tech mogul announced on social media website Friday that he and his wife, Priscilla Chan, are expecting a baby girl after having three miscarriages.
Most people don t discuss miscarriages because you worry your problems will distance you or reflect upon you — as if you re defective or did something to cause this. So you struggle on your own, Zuckerberg wrote in a Facebook post.
He said that by publicly sharing their personal experience with miscarriages he hopes it will give more people hope. The college sweet-hearts have been married since 2012.
Our good news is that our pregnancy is now far enough along that the risk of loss is very low and we are very hopeful, he write in the post.
Zuckerberg quipped that the baby girl even gave him a thumbs up like with her hand in their ultrasound.
I m already convinced she takes after me, he wrote.
