If Tinder is like real life, but better for people looking to hookup with other people, then a new dog-dating app called Tindog might be considered like real life, but closer to the ground and with more smells.
Launched in May for iOS and Android, this nifty app will make your pooch the top dog in the neighborhood, helping him/her meet other four-legged creatures for some brief social sniffing, with no strings or even leashes attached, or perhaps something more serious and long-term.
It s simple: just like human-dating apps, Tindog users put in their dog s age, breed and gender. Next, you upload a nice photo of your dog and even of yourself because who knows where that nose will take you both? And then, like Tinder, you and your mutt swipe the smartphone screen left or right on photos of other dogs to show your interest or lack thereof.
There must be something to Tindog, as it currently has 100,000 users, according to HuffPost. Once you ve found a promising match, you and your dog can swap photos, chat/bark up a storm, and then arrange a hookup spot at the closest tree, bush or pant leg.
