Tokyo-based Fujifilm said Tuesday that it is opening an innovation hub in Silicon Valley to share ideas with potential customers for its photgraphy and imaging technology.

The hub is modeled after one recently opened in Tokyo at Fujifilm s headquarters.

The idea is to have a place where business partners can experience the imaging company s technologies and get ideas for using them, the company said. A series of interaction tools will help with the learning curve.

The new hub will have five immersive zones for different technologies that apply to energy, environment, information technology, transportation, bio-pharma and regenerative medicine, Fujifilm said.

Bruce Novich, division president, said the hubs are designed to reach out to the innovation community, build partnerships and bring technologies to the market faster.
