Yahoo is expected to pass Twitter to be No. 3 in mobile ads next year. (Google and Facebook are Nos. 1 and 2.) Yahoo s gains are in line with CEO Marissa Mayer s emphasis on mobile as part of her turnaround effort at the company.

Twitter has painted #blacklivesmatter on an office wall in its San Francisco headquarters. The hashtag is just one of several being used in connection with protests over a New York police officer being cleared in the chokehold death of a black man. Those protests come on the heels of protests in Ferguson, Missouri, over the non-indictment of a cop who killed an unarmed black teen. Some have said the protests were given a boost by Twitter and other social media.
