Social media users beware — a line of texts sent through iMessage that causes some iPhones and other Apple products to crash can also be sent through Snapchat and Twitter.

The text message bug includes the words effective and Power along with a string of characters in  Arabic, Marathi and Chinese.

That pesky message can also be sent through Twitter via direct messages or public mentions and through Snapchat causing the iPhone to crash, The Guardian reports. Users who receive the text message bug won t be able to open their chat history with the person who sent the message without their iOS device crashing.

Apple said on its website that it is working on a software update to solve the problem. Until then, the company has outlined a temporary fix.

Here are the steps:

1. Ask Siri to read unread messages.

2. Use Siri to reply to the malicious message. After you reply, you ll be able to open Messages again.

3. If the issue continues, tap and hold the malicious message, tap More, and delete the message from the thread.

So far, there aren t any reports of the bug impacting Facebook Messenger.
