In the wake of a 7.8 magnitude earthquake in Nepal that has left thousands dead, Silicon Valley tech firms including Facebook, Apple and Google are pitching in to aid rescue and relief efforts.

Facebook on Monday launched a donation campaign that matches up to $2 million every dollar donated to the International Medical Corps, a nonprofit that is delivering medical care, hygiene kits, water purification tablets to earthquake survivors in the region.

People interested in donating can click on a donate button on the top of their Facebook Newsfeed or by visiting https://www.facebook.com/nepalearthquakesupport

Facebook also activated a feature over the weekend called Safety Check that allows people affected by natural disasters let their family and friends know that they re okay. Google, which lost one of their own employees over the weekend, has a People Finder tool that helps people find missing family members or post information about someone affected by a natural disaster.

Facebook isn t the only tech company assisting in disaster relief. Uber Dubai is donating its proceeds to the Red Cross of Nepal and Apple is accepting donations through its iTunes store.
