Twitter s homepage got a design makeover today.

People who visit the website can now see public tweets about different topics without logging into their accounts on the homepage.

Instead, Twitter users can view these stream of tweets by clicking on a topic, which includes News, Sports, Entertainment, Technology and Science, Lifestyle and more.

Yes, there s even a page for cute animal tweets:

The move could help Twitter attract new users, a goal the company has struggled to accomplish in recent years. About 288 million people logged into the service at least once a month in the fourth quarter, a slight uptick from 284 million users in the third quarter.

Twitter s CEO Dick Costolo has also been trying to convince investors that the company s audience is much larger than the monthly user numbers and that it can make money from users who are logged off of the microblogging site.

The company said in a blog post that the new homepage was rolled out to Twitter users in the United States and it plans to release it in other countries.
