Job seekers who use an Android phone to find work on the go now have another tool.
LinkedIn s standalone app for job searching, which was released last June for the iPhone, made its Android debut on Thursday in all English-speaking countries.
Growing mobile users has been a top priority for LinkedIn and other tech firms as more people turn to their smartphones to complete daily tasks they would normally do on a computer.
LinkedIn has also become a social network where users do more than search for jobs and the company has released separate apps before for browsing news, sharing slideshows, recruiting and networking.
The Android job search app includes all the features on the iOS app, allowing users to privately find jobs based on location, get recommendations and notifications and apply to the jobs with their LinkedIn profile.
But LinkedIn also said that the new Android app was created specifically for that operating system, including left and right hand navigation menus and an action bar at the top of all main pages.
More than 40 percent of LinkedIn members use the job search app, according to the company.
