Apple Watch may not include some anticipated health-monitoring services, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Due out in April, Apple Watch won t have the ability to monitor blood pressure, heart activity and stress level, the article said.

Tim Cook, Apple s CEO, tantalized investors last week when he said that people are going to be surprised by the breadth of what the watch can do.

But some of the health-monitoring elements ran into regulatory issues, were glitchy or proved too difficult to pull off, according to the Journal.

For example, people with hairy arms or dry skin threw off some of the sensors used to measure the conductivity of the skin. Such a measure is the concept behind polygraphs for measuring stress, said the article.

Still, even without some of the key health measurements, Apple appears to be anticipating high demand for the watch.

For the first quarter, the company has ordered from its Asia suppliers up to 6 million watches, which will come in three models, according to a Wall Street Journal blog post. About half of the orders will be for the lowest tier model, Apple Watch Sport, which will start at $349.

Even with the popularity of Apple products, Apple Watch presents a marketing challenge given that there is no simple reason to buy one compared to past Apple products such as the iPod and iPhone.
