The company announced on Wednesday it received funding from Mountain View accelerator Y Combinator — the first cannabis investment by YC. And very likely, the first of many. By 2019, the legal cannabis market is projected to be worth $11 billion.
The CannabisMD service expands Meadow s core product, an app that is a full-service cannabis concierge where users can view menus at local dispensaries and order pot on-demand from a desktop or mobile device. Users need to upload their California ID and physician s recommendation to Meadow s secure database to have their credentials verified.
