Despite not having yet officially launched its Internet-streamed Sling TV service, Dish is already working to improve it.

The company announced on Monday that it s adding Univision s collection of Spanish language channels to Sling TV s lineup. Sling TV customers will get access to the flagship Univision network as well as to its sports channel, Univision Deportes Network; Galavision; it movie channel  De Película; and six other channels. Dish s agreement with Univision also includes access to its Univision and UniMás broadcast stations.

We are delighted to add Univision s wide-ranging programming to our growing Sling TV lineup, Roger Lynch, Sling TV s CEO, said in a statement.

Dish did not say when, exactly, it will add Univision to Sling TV s lineup or whether it will charge extra for it, saying only that it will provide more details in the coming weeks.

Unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show last month, Sling TV represents one of the first Internet-delivered multi-channel pay TV services. Dish has designed the service to appeal to consumers who have cancelled their pay TV service or never signed up for one; Sling TV costs just $20 a month and doesn t require a long-term contract.

But Sling has some significant shortcomings, most notably its lack of channels. At launch, the service will only feature 12 pay TV channels.

Meanwhile, unlike with a regular cable or satellite TV service, Sling TV users consumers can t record programs and on-demand TV shows only are available for three days after they re broadcast.
