It s Apple Watch day, and locals arrived at Apple Stores to check out the much-awaited timepieces while a report said almost all of the models were sold out. The watches are supposed to begin shipping April 24, but some shipment times were reported to be four to six weeks. Meanwhile, there were reportedly smaller crowds than usual in Europe and Asia. Also: One estimate is that Apple spent $38 million on ads for the watch since its unveiling last month.

Ahead of the Hewlett-Packard split, its engineers are trying to figure out how to keep working together on its biggest project: The Machine, a new type of computer.

Speaking of splits, eBay and PayPal are drawing up a five-year operating agreement. Among the terms: eBay can t form a payments service and PayPal can t create its own online marketplace for physical goods. Also, eBay guarantees it will channel 80 percent of its online gross merchandise sales via PayPal. And PayPal can work with eBay competitors such as Amazon and Alibaba.

Intel chosen for $200 million Argonne National Laboratory supercomputer project. The chip maker will work with Cray.

Report: China is using a new tool called the Great Cannon to intercept and repurpose foreign Web traffic, and inject malicious code. From the NYT: Researchers say the tool could be used to spy on anyone who happens to fetch content hosted on a Chinese computer, even by visiting a non-Chinese website that contains Chinese advertising content.
