Ever wonder how much your personal information is worth when some nasty cyber crook gets their hands on it? You now can get an inkling of that from an interactive infographic that s been put together by security firm Trend Micro.
The graphic reveals what the cyber underground will pay for a wide variety of stolen data, including personal email addresses, mobile phone numbers, online shopping credentials, social media account credentials and credit card information. But the prices the bad guys are willing to pay for that information varies greatly from country to country.
For example, Trend Micro notes, a stolen mobile number, personal email address and instant messaging log-in is worth $1,236 in Brazil, but only $129 in China and $100 in Russia.
