If you have a Master s Degree in Architecture from a top university, direct experience designing innovative high-tech facilities, can travel when needed to construction sites and desire to do the impossible, then Tesla Motors has a job for you.

The maker of electric cars and stationary storage devices has a job opening for Architect-Gigafactory at its Palo Alto headquarters. Tesla s planned gigafactory is key to Tesla s efforts to drive down battery costs and bring electric cars to the masses. The gigafactory itself is expected to be powered, in part, by renewable sources of electricity like solar and wind. Last week, Tesla acknowledged in a letter to shareholders that it has broken ground on a potential site in Reno, Nevada, but is still evaluating other sites in Arizona, California, New Mexico and Texas.

You will be expected to challenge and to be challenged, to create, and to innovate, reads the job posting. These jobs are not for everyone, you must have a genuine passion for producing the best vehicle in the world. Without passion, you will find what we re trying to do too difficult.

Duties may include project management, functional layouts, building design, site analysis, cost estimates, code review, space planning, design visualization, schematic design development and contract documentation.
