Cue Mendelssohn: Here comes the … Uber? The ride-sharing company is offering free wedding ceremonies in San Francisco tomorrow in honor of Pride, the LGBT celebration. The package also comes with free flowers, dessert and even a honeymoon courtesy of partners such as Alaska Airlines.

Bring your own vows, or we can provide them for you, reads the San Francisco-based company s blog post announcing its offer. The wedding ceremonies will be held between noon and 6 p.m. Saturday, and can be ordered on the Uber mobile app. The company promises to help you find the road to marital bliss in under an hour, although the sheer number of people expected in San Francisco this weekend for Pride might be a hindrance.

Uber — the 5-year-old company that mainly delivers people from point A to point B — has put on high-profile, offbeat promotions before, including delivering ice cream, Christmas trees, air conditioners, kittens and Mariachi bands. In the Bay Area, it provided boat rides during the BART strike. But are somewhat nutty nuptials a good idea? Reactions vary. Some are taking to Twitter to say it s great, or asking to be invited. But some tweeters called it ridiculous, and others told TechCrunch that the offer is gross, or seems like pandering.
