Off topic: Birth order, French expressions, downgrading Internet hype, tracking laws

Excuse me while I rethink my ambitions: Another study about birth order shows that firstborn children, especially females, are likely to be high achievers. (Wider gaps between each child also matters.)  French expressions with no English equivalents. (But might trouvaille be close to serendipity?) Has the Internet — and its hyperventilating headlines — got you grumpy? Try plugins such as Downworthy, which turns “amazing” to “barely noticeable”; “mind-blowing” to “painfully ordinary”; and more. And Holy Congress, Legislative Explorer is a pretty amazing interactive visualization.
