Here’s one mobile app that Steve Jobs would probably have agreed has no place in Apple’s App Store.
“Quoth Steve” features daily bon mots from the Silicon Valley icon and allows users to share them over social networks. But Apple has reportedly banned the app from its store because it’s, well, too Steve Jobs-centric.
In an interview that appeared in Recode, the app’s co-creator John Gill says when he tried to get Quoth Steve approved Apple told him it would not OK an app focused entirely on Jobs. Gill says Apple requested that he add quotes from other celebs but Gill declined.
Apple declined to comment on the report.
Gill might not have been so surprised by Apple’s reaction to a Jobs-only app if he’d read this famous quote from the man:
My model for business is The Beatles. They were four guys who kept each other’s kind of negative tendencies in check. They balanced each other and the total was greater than the sum of the parts. That’s how I see business: great things in business are never done by one person, they’re done by a team of people.
