Elon Musk:

Tesla Motors CEO Elon Musk confirmed the rumor that has been swirling around all week.

“We had conversations with Apple,” Musk told Bloomberg TV Wednesday, after Tesla’s quarterly earnings release.

In a phone interview with Bloomberg’s Betty Liu, Musk said “We had conversations with Apple. I can’t comment on whether those revolved around any kind of acquisition.”

The San Francisco Chronicle reported that Musk’s meeting with Apple took place last spring, or about a year ago -  when Tesla’s valuation is much less than it is now. Musk told Lui that it’s “very unlikely” that the company is for sale.
