Apple is behaving very un-Scrooge-like

Apple is getting into the holiday spirit in a big way this year, bringing its “12 Days of Gifts” promotion to the United States for the first time.

Having launched the program in other countries in the past, Apple says it will now offer a free digital gift from the App Store or iTunes each day from Dec. 26 until Jan. 6. And all that’s required of you, the lucky 12-time recipient, is that you download the 12 Days of Gifts app, then sit back and wait for the goodies to start coming your way.

The gifts could include free books, apps, songs or movies, and each deal is good for that one 24-hour period.

Let the good cheer roll!
