Microsoft bolsters cloud-computing products

With just about every big tech company rushing to offer Internet-based products, it’s little wonder that software giant Microsoft also is elbowing its way into the cloud.

The Redmond, Wash. company – which already offers some cloud-based services – announced several more on Monday during a briefing in San Francisco.  The new products are designed to help business create data centers and network from the Web.

Although Amazon has a big lead over Microsoft in cloud-based products for other companies, Satya Nadella, Microsoft’s cloud and enterprise vice president, was optimisic about the business.

“We see plenty of oportunity to grow new sources of revenue,” he said.
