Exclusive: It's like Macworld for Tesla; TESLIVE users conference planned for July

People who have bought electric vehicles from Tesla Motors, as well as those who have reservations, are a very social group. The independent Tesla Motors Club (TMC) has roughly 6,000 active users, and TMC’s popular forums have become a key source of information for journalists and analysts who follow the company.

Now Tesla owners and enthusiasts are taking their passion for the company one step further: a 2-day users conference in July. Think Macworld, but for Tesla.

Known as TESLIVE, the event is being organized by TMC, with support from Tesla.  TESLIVE kicks off Friday July 12th at the Crowne Plaza San Jose-Silicon Valley with exhibits and a network reception. Saturday includes several breakout sessions and a Tesla Motors-sponsored party at the Fremont factory. On Sunday, organizers envision a convoy of drivers taking to the Woodside hills in Roadsters and the Model S.

The grassroots event, planned by TMC volunteers, is limited to 300 attendees, but organizers hope it can become an annual event that grows in size in the future. For more information, go to www.teslamotorsclub/TESLIVE.
