Tesla Motors: we have 3,000 Model S sedans registered in California

There’s often good nuggets of information in the Inside Tesla Motors blog, written by sales and marketing maven George Blankenship.

The highlights: Tesla has registered its 3,000th Model S in the Golden State. In the February earnings call, Tesla said it delivered 2,650 cars in 2012.  The fact that they’ve hit 3,000 registrations in California, which has always been its strongest market, suggests that deliveries to customers who made reservations have revved up. (Registration is submitted once the car has been delivered).

Tesla also said it has had great success with its showroom at Santana Row in San Jose – so much so that they need to expand and will be relocating to a new, larger location within Santana Row in the next few weeks.
