Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster believes Apple will hold a new product event in March or April.
In a note to investors on Friday, Munster said he believes the company will unveil full-size iPad body styles similar to the iPad Mini, which the company launched last fall. He does not believe Apple will offer up an iPad Mini with its high-end retina screen because the company is still facing supply problems with the current version. Apple still limits the number of iPad Mini’s customers can buy to two.
“If Apple does have a spring event this year, it may not result in significant new products, but we believe the pipeline for the rest of the year, including a cheaper phone and a television, will excite investors about Apple’s ability to innovate,” Munster wrote.
