President Obama plans to “hangout” with Americans through Google on Thursday

President Obama is turning to social media again to promote his agenda.

The president plans to take questions during a Google Hangout on Thursday — two days after delivering his State of the Union address, the Internet company said Monday.

Obama will answer questions about his Congressional address at 1:50 p.m. on Thursday. The event, dubbed a “Fireside Hangout,” will be similar to one Vice President Joseph Biden hosted last month, when he asked participants to support the administration’s gun control agenda.

Google Hangouts are online chats that are part of the Google+ Service.

Obama used the social media news site Reddit last year to promote his reelection campaign.
