Next on HBO: Silicon Valley, the sitcom

You were just waiting for another TV show about Silicon Valley, right?

Somebody in Hollywood apparently thinks you were. The entertainment news site Deadline.com is reporting that HBO has green-lighted a pilot for a live-action sitcom from Mike Judge, co-creator of the animated series “King of the Hill” and the cult-hit movie comedy, “Office Space.”

No word on casting, so far. (Ashton Kutcher seems to be committed elsewhere.)

But the new series, to be called “Silicon Valley,” is described as a “single-camera dark comedy” that is “set in the high-tech gold rush of modern Silicon Valley, where the people most qualified to succeed are the least capable of handling success.”

“Heh, heh, heh,” as they used to say on another one of Judge’s shows, “Beavis and Butthead.

So maybe some critics aren’t enamored with Randi Zuckerberg’s reality series “Start-Ups: Silicon Valley” on Bravo. And maybe some think that show is a bad example for aspiring entrepreneurs.

This one’s meant to be a comedy.
