Wiretap’s Wednesday funding wrap-up

An assortment of tidbits that have drifted through my transom:

• Palo Alto’s Big Switch Networks, which makes data-center virtualization software, snares a $25 million  Series B round led by Redpoint Ventures. Also in on the fun: Goldman Sachs and existing investors Index Ventures and Khosla Ventures.

• San Francisco-based adverCar, adverCar SUV advertising for a Double Filet-O-Fishwhich pays drivers for renting out advertising space on their cars, raises a $2 million seed round led by Canaan Partners. The additional investors represent an interesting smattering: 1-800-Flowers, TiE Angels Boston and the New Orleans Startup Fund. (The company was founded in my old stomping grounds of New Orleans before decamping for the Bay Area.)

•  And, while I typically avoid funding news for companies not based in Silicon Valley, this one was interesting: Menlo Park’s DCM (né: Doll Capital Management) is part of a $20 million Series B round in Lumi, a Shanghai-based maker of “nutritional beauty products.” Jafco Ventures and Fidelity also were in on the deal, which was led by ClearVue Partners, a private equity firm focused on China’s consumer sector.
