If you’ve followed the travails of Hacker Dojo, then here’s some good news: The organization has found a new home.
For those new to the story, here’s a good bit of background:
“The self-styled community center for up and coming startups was in a battle against the clock to raise $250,000 for a series of city-mandated upgrades to the warehouse space it occupies at 140 S. Whisman Road. Hacker Dojo has until Dec. 27 to complete the work, which includes installing a fire sprinkler system and ADA-compliant restrooms, or face possible closure.”
The group met the fundraising goal. But then, they found a more appealing space at 599 Fairchild Drive in Mountain View.
According to the Website, Hacker Dojo discovered that fixing up the old building was going to cost significantly more than they realized. Then, the stumbled across the new location which would actually allow them to expand (it’s 27 percent large than the old space).
Congratulations to the folks at Hacker Dojo. We look forward to visiting and see what amazing things they create. And glad this story has a happy ending.
