Yesterday, we noted that Apple was facing yet another headache with complaints that some number of iPhone 5 orders arrived with phones that were nicked and cut. This was quickly dubbed #scuffgate on Twitter, and the complaints came pouring in.
In this morning, videographer Dean C. Smith of ABC News 7 (@abc7newsBayArea) tweeted to me that he was taking video of a man who had come to the Palo Alto Apple store to complain. Here are his tweets:

This is such bullshit. You say yourself he whisked inside. Probably to get a new phone. Meanwhile, you way you write it sounds like he was ominously escorted out of the store. People think here he was “pulled away”, when the truth is probably closer to you couldn’t take any more pictures because you were outside the store to begin with. I don’t see any follow up from you when he came back out, presumably happy and with a new phone. Probably a good result from the “intervention” No story there. But in mean time you get to pretend your an investigative journalist from all the hype you drummed up from one tweet

It is indicative of Apple to have superior customer service. When I purchased my iPhone 4 and I experience an issue, they whisked me in prior to store opening to help replace the device.
Quit with the drama and the attempt to whipped up a situation when it was a non-issue… PERIOD.
