Tech for Obama = fundraiser in Atherton

California isn’t a swing state. But Silicon Valley has lots of deep-pocketed folks working to ensure President Barack Obama’s re-election bid.

Enter “T4O,” or Technology for Obama, which aims to “rally the tech community to endorse, and to commit time and talent to the campaign.” Translation: help raise lots of cash and hone the campaign’s digital strategy.

Co-chairs include Steve Westly, Sean Parker, Reid Hoffman, Craig Newmark, Aneesh Chopra and Marc Benioff.

Caroline Donahue, a senior executive at Intuit, is hosting a Tech for Obama fundraiser at her Atherton home Sept. 29. Co-hosts include Google’s Susan Wojcicki and Samasource founder Leila Janah; special guests include Diane Greene, Douglas Osheroff and Eric Schmidt. Tickets start at $250. More info at:

And T4Oplans to gather at San Francisco’s Temple Nightclub to watch the first Presidential Debate October 3rd.

I’m not aware of a similarly organized Tech for Romney group; let me know if there is one!
