You probably saw the pictures of models wearing Google Glass, the experimental wearable computer created by Google during New York’s Fashion Week. Yes, you were only looking at the Google Glass. Right?
In any case, it was a deft branding move by Google, even if they are years away from finding their way into consumers’ hands. But it turns out there was another reason the models were wearing them. The video was used to create a short film. Here’s the description:
“Experience the DVF Spring 2013 show at New York Fashion Week through the eyes of the people who made it happen—the stylists, the models and Diane von Furstenberg herself. All the footage you see here was filmed using only Glass, Google’s latest technology that lets you capture moments from a unique, new perspective. See what happens when fashion and technology come together like you’ve never seen before.”
It’s a bit, um, surreal at times. And it might offer more behind-the-scenes looks at runway shows than you ever really wanted. But still, here it is in all of its glory:
