Kris’ job-hunt turns bleak

This just in from Kris Rowberry, who’s having a tough time of it:

So I’m up late again tonight, searching the web for something - anything in terms of good news. Turns out good news is a hot and rare commodity nowadays.

I’ve expanded my concentrated job search now, from just the greater Bay Area to the entire Sacramento River Valley. I have friends and relatives up there, so they could help with a transition should it be necessary. I’ve also expanded and tapped into other fields, such as my tour and travel experience (3 years) and even retail (3 years), but with no success.

It seems everywhere I look, something reminds me of the Jet Center. I don’t even have to look up anymore. The signs are all around me - and it makes me angrier with each passing day.

A friend on Facebook uploaded a picture of a Harrier military jet that landed there.

A convenience store that I ran into to get a bottle of water had a cell phone advertisement with Los Tigres del Norte, (Very famous local band) one of my favorite groups to work with. They always had a ton of luggage, (literally) but they were always appreciative of the red carpet treatment, even at 4:00am on a Sunday morning.

Even the article featuring Weili Dai got me emotional. I know her plane’s tail number and crew. They were one of the crews I looked forward to helping out there.

I’m losing hope. No interviews. Barely any calls or messages back. The one’s I do get are all the same:

“We’ve got nothing.”

At what point do I just give up? Maybe more importantly, what is the definition of, “giving up?”
