“They say TV will rot your brain. That’s absurd. TV only softens the brain, like a ripe banana. To take it all the way, we’ve created Hulu.”

— Alec Baldwin, in Hulu’s Super Bowl ad, reveals the video site as an evil alien plot (more evidence — if you go to the site to catch up on the commercials from the game, you have to watch an ad to see an ad).

  • There were only a couple of standouts in “Commercial Bowl 2009” and this was one of them. I sought it out on the web today so I could catch the details I missed the first time through!

Take a step back from the Hulu ad to see where we have come in the past fifty years. I mean, forget about the fact that a color screen in your home can connect to just about any place on the planet in seconds and display moving images of an almost infinite variety.

The fact that the best way to sell the service (which is free) is to make fun of it by saying it is an alien life form says all you need to know about how our beings have evolved in the past two generations. Someone from the Moon Walk era would read these words and look for the name of a science fiction author. And have no clue why someone would promote something that way.
