Robert Half sued by worker seeking class-action status for other California employees

Robert Half International, the staffing services firm based in Menlo Park, was named as a defendant in a court case brought by a (we’re-presuming) former employee that alleges that temporary employees in California were “improperly denied expense reimbursement and wages for time purportedly spent preparing for interviews, and traveling to and attending interviews with, alleged clients of” Robert Half’s, according to a filing with the SEC last month.

The complaint was filed Sept. 16 in California Superior Court by plaintiff Donald R. Green “on behalf of himself and a putative class of all temporary staffing employees” in the state. He is seeking “penalties and equitable and legal remedies under Section 17200 of the California Business and Professions Code and Sections 1194 and 2802 of the California Labor Code.”

Robert Half said that “it is is not feasible to predict the outcome of or a range of loss, should a loss occur from this proceeding,” but added that it “believes it has meritorious defenses to the allegations, and the Company intends to vigorously defend against the litigation.”

    RE: RHL LAWSUIT FOR SIMILARLY SITUATED CALIFORNIA WORKERS

    If you decide to go forward with this class-action lawsuit, I would be interested in joining. I’m confident that others will join as well. It’s about time that RHI, including Robert Half Legal, is forced to follow applicable labor and employment laws of the State of California.

    I have filed an EEOC charge, but am prepared to file a lawsuit, if it becomes necessary.

    Keep me posted.

  2. It is imperative to notify of whom to contact in order to move forward with a joint legal action so that all facts are gather. Immediately establishing a point of contact will not only allow participants to be aware of all of the former employees unjustly and discriminatory actions, but will also strengthens the case with powerful and concrete evidence.

    Don’t sleep on this because you will find that Robert Half Inc’s actions have unfortunately affected more former (and maybe current) employees than possibly projected.

    Seek and ye shall find.

    Update me if still interested in proceeding or send me the contact firm information for initiating an individual case.

    ~~~ I do believe that there is power in revealing the truth and the more former employees courageous enough to expose this company the better…
    I feel it’s about time for RHI to be exposed. I also feel a lawsuit should be filed against them. I worked for them 6 1/2 years, and saw things I should not have not seen.
    Current employees and previous employees need to stop this cycle with RHI, they don’t care about the employees. They only care if you are making money for them, even if you have to miss your lunch hour and breaks.
    “Eat at your desk is their motto”.
    Glad to hear that something is being done with RHI unfair labor processes. I have worked for them for several years and they are just not truthful to employees once employed by them.
    Most recently, I was called in for an interview after discussing the job over the phone. After going through the interview with one Recruiter, I was informed upon leaving by another Recruiter, the job had already been filled and the person working at the job has been working for one week. What a waste of time, effort and gas money. I refuse to work with them from here on out!
