Advanced Analogic loses chief operating officer

Advanced Analogic Technologies, the Santa Clara maker of power-management chips used in mobile consumer electronic devices, said that that Parviz Ghaffaripour, and executive vice president and the company’s chief operating officer, has resigned “to pursue other interests.”

Ghaffaripour received a $70,000 signing bonus when he joined the company in February of last
year from Aspired Integrated Circuits, a private maker of analog chips that he founded and led
from June 2006. Prior to that he worked at Maxim Integrated Products and National
Semiconductor.

Shares of Advanced Analogic (ticker: AATI), which fell on by 25 cents, or 4.6 percent to $5.22 on Monday before the news was released, fell seven more cents after hours, matching the 18-month low of $5.15 they hit last week. The have lost half their value so far this year. It first offered its shares to the public for $10 each in August 2005.
