kris_hagerman_300dpi.jpg Kris Hagerman, a former a division president in charge of Symantec’s data center management group, has been named interim chief executive at Canadian software maker Corel (despite the conspicuous U.S. flag next to its logo at the company’s Web site). Hagerman was most recently a senior advisor at Vector Capital, which owns 69 percent of Corel’s shares outstanding and which proposed the rest of Corel’s shares for $11 back in March.

Corel’s previous CEO, David Dobson told the company last month that he would be leaving “in order to accept a senior executive position at a Fortune 500 company.”

Corel sells packaged software for graphics and digital media, including WordPerfect. Remember it?
